The site comprises a range of single storey red brick buildings with clay pantile roofs. The
buildings were constructed at the beginning of the 20th Century and were altered in the 1980s.
The Site comprises three distinct blocks, a 26m long north west section, a 15m central section
which is staggered inwards towards the City Walls leaving a set-back open area on the St
Maurice’s Road elevation and a 16m long south east section.
The heights of the ridges vary from 5.0m (south east block) to 5.8m (northwest block). The
northwest block is also characterised by a traverse roofed section which bisects the block with
a taller ridge height of 6.8m.
The site is of two-storey appearance with gable elevations on the north east and south west
ends. The latter elevation having granary-type doors on the ground and upper levels.
The main north east elevation of the buildings is set back from the footway in St Maurice’s
Road by between 2.5m and 4.0m, which increases to 6.0m in the case of the central block,
the set-back area being enclosed by a timber fence.
The area between the buildings and the footway contains a line of Ash trees, with the highway
boundary being formed by a low brick wall with stone coping.
