Abstract/Summary
On the 11th of September 2017 a watching brief took place during the excavation of a raft foundation and other ground works for a detached building to the rear of 38 Clarence Street, York. The site revealed the anticipated sequence of the construction horizon for the previously standing property, with its associated garden soil, sealing in an earlier subsoil. No natural type deposits were encountered.
