Title 64 Clarence St EVAL
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2018

Abstract/Summary

Monitoring of two evaluation trenches on the site of proposed dwelling. The site revealed predominantly modern deposits sitting on top of a natural clay. Any archaeology has either been removed during building work or was never there. The modern garden soil is largely 20th C but there are echoes of Victorian and Georgian habitation in the surrounding brickwork and the occasional sherd of pottery. A single Victorian sewer runs through the site. It is heavily truncated by the creation of the modern main drain.
