James Lyall (of Geophiz.biz) was commissioned by Steve Wells Associates to undertake a fluxgate gradiometer (magnetometer) survey over the playing fields at Millthorpe School, York. The survey detected a total of 65 anomalies, the vast majority of which (57) are caused by the presence field drains. Six anomalies of potential archaeological significance were encountered, though at this stage a geological origin for these features cannot be ruled out.
