Title 3 Driffield Terrace
Author/Originator
Date/Year 2020

Abstract/Summary

The gardens sited to the front of numbers 3 and 4 Driffield Terrace have been significantly remodelled during the late 20th century. The Mount School historically owned the properties and the garden levels were reduced to enable more light to enter the basement classrooms. The retaining party wall that divides property 3 Driffield Terrace from property 2 Driffield Terrace was constructed during this landscaping. The gardens of 2 Driffield Terrace are located at the original level as when constructed in c.1860. It could be surmised that any existing archaeological deposits were destroyed during the 20th century landscaping.
