No deposits of archaeological significance were encountered at 35 Aldwark during the watching brief. It is clear that due to the truncation of the drains and the previous extension to the property that only modern made ground and foundations of the buildings were encountered. The foundation to the main house was seen but again did not contain anything of significance. As natural was not seen there is still a possibility that more significant deposits lay beneath, but as the full extent of the foundations were not revealed it could be that to encounter non-truncated deposits of significance they could be substantially deeper.
