An Archaeological Evaluation by Trial Trenching was carried out by MAP Archaeological Practice Ltd., on land off Middlewood Close, Rufforth in March 2022. The evaluation was undertaken to assess the potential of archaeological remains and to allow the City Archaeologist to make a reasoned decision regarding further mitigation that may be required prior to the development of the site. A total of five trenches were excavated within the site boundary of which two contained an undated linear ditch. No further significant archaeological finds, features, or deposits were identified.
