The watching brief consisted of the excavation of a single 0.7m by 23.5m service trench, in the driveway, at the front of the hotel. Excavation revealed one main deposit, which comprised of a graveyard soil containing disarticulated human bone. This was sealed by a rubble made ground which itself was sealed by the modern tarmac ground surface. No intact burials were encountered during the excavation.
