The evaluation comprised the excavation of three trenches. All three of the trenches revealed natural clay. This was broadly level across the site, at between 9.60m and 9.90m AOD (approximately 0.90m to 1.20m below the current ground surface). Due to the absence of significant dated archaeological features on this site, as well as the truncation and disturbance of parts of the site during the 19th century and later, it is the view of On-Site Archaeology Ltd that further archaeological investigation of the site is unlikely to encounter any significant archaeological deposits or features.
