An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by On-Site Archaeology Ltd at 15 High Ousegate, York during the development of a single and two storey rear extension to the property (Application Ref No. 24/02227/FUL). The watching brief revealed remains of a heavily truncated stone structure of a probable medieval or post-medieval date at a level of c.15.30m AOD. The investigation also revealed a thick levelling deposit probably associated with remodelling of 15 High Ousegate during the 18th – 19th centuries.
