Abstract/Summary
Archaeological mitigation on the York Central site has been underway since work commenced in 2021. Archaeological monitoring of intrusive groundworks has been undertaken using a rapid assessment triage system (TA), where proposed works and consideration of impacts are assessed to establish if formal archaeological recording is required. Where the impacts of the works, or the archaeological potential of the area, remained unclear on-site monitoring has been undertaken by the lead consultant archaeologist (LCA).
This report compiles the first volume of smaller observations where no archaeology, or less archaeologically significant remains were revealed. These reports detail where the works have impacted potentially significant archaeological deposits, and then describe what was visible whilst the works were completed.
The appendicies cover site-specific works and are listed as separate events on the Historic Environment Record.
