Archaeological monitoring was undertaken at 24 Tadcaster Road, Dringhouses, York, in advance of the erection of a dwelling following the demolition of rear outbuildings. The works comprised a photographic record of the buildings prior to demolition and monitoring of the foundation excavations. The excavations revealed a sequence of modern deposits comprising a concrete yard surface and underlying made ground. No archaeological deposits, features or finds were identified. The results indicate that any surviving archaeological horizon is likely to lie below the depth impacted by the present development.
