Abstract/Summary
An archaeological watching brief was carried out by On-Site Archaeology at Clifton Holme, Ousecliffe Gardens, York, on behalf of Dr. Jamie MacLeod This work was conducted in order to fuyi'l an archaeological condition attached to the planning permission for groundworks associated with construction of a tennis court. The archaeological watching brief consisted of I day on site on the 24h October 2002.
The watching brief comprised examination of two hand dug holesfor the tennis net supports. A single pit was identified in one of the net support excavations, from which medieval pottery was recovered.
