Description

An archaeological evaluation undertaken at Derwent Road Playing Fields in January and February 2008 by Humber Field Archaeology for Harron Homes. The evaluation revealed Romano-British drainage ditches, gullies or hedges delineating or sub-dividing fields or enclosures. In the medieval period the site formed part of the open fields of Osbaldwick resulting in the creation of ridge and furrow, some of which was still upstanding.
