Description
The purpose of this Project Design is to present an archaeological strategy in support of
proposals for the construction of a residential development at Derwent Road Playing Fields,
Osbaldwick Lane, York.
The Project Design has been prepared by Humber Field Archaeology for Harron Homes
(Yorkshire) Ltd, in response to the archaeological scheme of investigation issued by the City of
York Council on 23rd May 2007. The document sets out the methodology for evaluating five
trenches in the locations indicated on the attached plan.
A programme for the on- and off-site works is included; clients are advised that construction
site works should not commence until the archaeological area has been 'signed off' by the
LPA's archaeological advisor, and a suitable mitigation strategy has been approved.
