Description
Core 1: At the first location seven cores (1a-1g) were taken by placing the corer into the hole created by the previous core. There was some overlap between the cores (figure 4), which may have been caused by the second core being taken at a slightly different angle to the first, or as a result of collapse into the core hole. Each core was wrapped in cling film and foil and stored in guttering pipes. The cores were transported to the laboratory where they were refrigerated until further analysis was undertaken.
