Description
This assessment has been prepared at the request of DLA Architecture to assist with consideration of development proposals for the site of the former Electric Cinema, 19-22 Fossgate, York.
The assessment indicates that the site lies in an area of known Roman to medieval archaeological remains. To ascertain the level to which archaeological deposits survive within this site an archaeological evaluation will be required.
The site includes a listed building and there are several other listed buildings in the vicinity of the site. A separate assessment of the buildings was undertaken.
