Description

A geophysical survey carried out by North Duffield Society as part of their HLF funded investigation into the prehistory of the Vale of York south of the city of York. Magnetometry and earth resistance survey were undertaken on a site which previously featured crop marks of a possible prehistoric ring-ditch and potentially associated linear features. The survey results did not correspond closely to the crop marks, but revealed an area of strong magnetic ‘noise’ that, when combined with high resistance linear elements, suggest the presence of building remains
