Archaeological investigation of foundations of Tower 35 and adjacent wall. Work aimed to assess the possible causes of movement and cracking in the face of the structure. Four trenches were excavated by hand to various depths ranging from 0.30 to 0.70m BGL . Possible medieval rampart deposits were recorded along with a small assemblage of artefacts (mostly modern) but incluing a residual Anglo-Scandinavian ring.
