Full Description

Angle tower at the north corner of the precinct of St Mary's Abbey, built 1318-24 as a circlar tower, 34 feet in diameter and an octagonal interior of two storeys., the original height being over 40 feet. It was partly destroyed in the siege of 1644 and rebuilt. The reconstructed part follows an irregular curve.
