Summary

Excavations to the North of St Mary Bishophill Junior revealed a substantial 3rd-4th century Roman building. An extensive collection of fish remains, perhaps over 200 specimens, was also found. Originally identified as an Anglian food processing area, they are more likely to be Roman.
