Monument record MYO54 - Wheldrake

Summary

Wheldrake has a village plan comprising regular toft rows facing a single street. Such plans are believed to have been established in the late eleventh and early twelfth centuries. The supposed maximum extent of the planned medieval village is plotted as a polygon based on the 1st Edition OS plan and includes the site of Wheldrake Old Hall.
