Title | Land north of North Lane Wheldrake |
---|---|
Author/Originator | MAP Archaeological Practice |
Date/Year | 2014 |
Abstract/Summary
Eleven Evaluation Trenches were excavated.
Two trenches contained modern disturbance. Seven trenches contained modern land drains. These features probably all relate to the use of the area as fields and gardens in the recent past. Finds recovered from the topsoil, included sherds of Medieval and Post-medieval pottery, a flint flake and a fragment of clay tobacco pipe. The flint artefact is residual but indicates prehistoric activity in the area.
