Full Description

School, now public library and two houses. 1852 with later alteration. Brick in English bond. Pantiled roof. EXTERIOR: the library occupies a 1-storey gabled cross-wing at the left. It has 2 windows, each with 3 lights and a transom and with geometrical glazing. At the apex of the gable there is a louvred ventilation opening, with a circular recess below. The door, which is C20 and partly glazed, is in the front wall of a lean-to against the left-hand return wall. The houses are set back to the right and of one storey plus attics. No.54 is of 2 bays with a central doorway. It has 3-light windows on the ground floor and 2-light dormers above, all with casements which have geometrical glazing. The door has 6 raised and fielded panels. No.52, at the right, is of one bay and has C20 casement windows on the ground floor and to the dormer. Its door and doorhood are also C20. Ridge chimneys to right and left of No.54. INTERIOR: not inspected.
