Full Description
House, now offices. Mid C19, with C20 alterations. Yellow brick with limestone ashlar dressings. Slate roof. EXTERIOR: symmetrical, of 2 storeys plus attics and 5 bays, with a storey band and a 1st floor sill band. The outer bays have single-storey stone bows which have curved sashes, without glazing bars and with rounded upper corners. They have carved brackets to their cornices and are topped by iron railings. The 1st floor windows are sashed without glazing bars. Except for the central bay they have architraves with segmental heads and keystones. At 1st floor level the central bay has brick pilaster strips to left and right, and a casement window with round head, keystone, and moulded imposts. Above, the deep bracketed eaves rise to form an open pediment above a round-headed attic window. The attic is also lit by 2 flat-roofed C20 dormers. The single-storey porch has outer pilaster strips with channelled rustication and foliated caps, and inner columns with similar caps. Above the bracketed cornice there are cast-iron railings in an interlaced pattern. The doorway has a moulded round head with overlight, and the divided doors have 4 panels, the upper panels round-headed. Chimneys on gables and behind ridge. INTERIOR: not inspected.
