A former house built circa 1775, from c.1997 in use as a hotel and until c.2000 when converted into flats. It is constructed of brick with 3 storeys.

Initially called Holgate Villa and erected between 1827-1832. In 1868 different owners moved in and built up a small estate which eventually included Holgate Windmill. Demolished 1981.

Scatter of burials adjacent to supposed line of Roman Road 9. Polygon on map indicates potential extent of Roman burial. However, burials beyond this area may also be expected.

A series of hollow ways and a large embanked boundary of medieval date were seen as earthworks and cropmarks on air photographs. They are probably associated with the village of Askham Bryan which lies just to the south west.
