Original location of the Carmelite Friary in the Horsefair. This Friary was established in 1251 outside the North walls of York, and flourished until 1295.

The cropmarks of a post medieval walled garden with formal elements, including a possible pond, paths and flower beds, were seen on air photographs. This formal garden is probably associated with Askham Grange (see SE 54 NW 15).
