EXCAVATION Lloyds Bank Pavement Excavation of four trenches within the front cellars. The aim was to expose as much as possible of the Anglo-Scandindavian buildings previously located next door at 2-4 pavement. The results demonstrated that the site lay within the maufacuring area of Jorvik and provided new evidence for the close relationship between industrial and domestic activity in the 10th century. The site contained rich organic deposits.
